TOKYO, May 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar hovered in the lower 109 yen zone Friday in Tokyo on weak U.S. inflation data as well as tensions in the Middle East.

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 109.33-35 yen compared with 109.34-44 yen in New York and 109.93-95 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday. It moved between 109.19 yen and 109.57 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.1907-1908 dollars and 130.18-22 yen against 1.1911-1921 dollars and 130.33-43 yen in New York and 1.1859-1860 dollars and 130.37-41 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon.
