TOKYO, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Wednesday morning as investors remained concerned about political uncertainty in Europe, with an overnight fall in U.S. shares adding to a risk averse mood.

As of 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 334.29 points, or 1.50 percent, from Tuesday to 22,024.14.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 24.88 points, or 1.41 percent, to 1,736.97.

Nonferrous metal, bank and insurance-related issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
