MINSK, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei on Friday called for settling differences in Europe to prevent a new Cold War, local media reported.

During the 10th round of the Informal Ministerial Dialogue of the Eastern Partnership in Minsk, Makei urged Europe to stop the blame game, overcome old grievances and start a dialogue towards peaceful resolution and better mutual understanding.

"This is the only way to prevent a new Cold War and to create a really united Europe," he added.

The Minister noted that Belarus is committed to the peaceful resolution of conflicts and intends to continue supporting the relevant international efforts.

He also said that the Eastern Partnership should develop in a non-confrontational manner and should not be directed against the interests of third countries.

The 10th round of the Informal Ministerial Dialogue of the Eastern Partnership is taking place in Minsk on June 21 to 22.
