ISLAMABAD, July 6 (Xinhua) -- The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Friday rejected accountability court's decision to arrest former prime minister and the party's former chairman Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Muhammad Safdar in one corruption case.

Addressing a press conference, President of PML-N Shahbaz Sharif called the decision a great deal of "injustice," adding that the former prime minister became a victim of politically motivated decision by the judges.

"In the history this judgment would be written in black words," he said.

Shahbaz Sharif, the former chief minister of the country's Punjab province, reiterated that Nawaz Sharif, his elder brother, made a lot of efforts for development of the country.

Shahbaz Sharif, who was made the president of the PML-N in March this year after Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by the court, said that they will launch a campaign against the injustice and emerge as the victorious party in the forthcoming general elections, to be held on July 25.

The accountability court sentenced Nawaz Sharif 10 years in prison for owning assets beyond means. He was also imposed 8 million pounds as fine, while his apartments in London, will also be confiscated by the government of Pakistan.

Apart from Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Muhammad Safdar got seven and one year in prison respectively. A fine of 2 million pounds was imposed on Maryam for insisting her father in corruption, and presenting forged documents in the court during the trail.

As per country's constitution, the convicts reserve the right to challenge the accountability court's decision in the High Court within 10 days of the decision.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the PML-N will avail its legal right to raise voice against the injustice and do all the procedures against the decision.

He said that there are a number of legal errors in the decision and their attorneys will look into the matter after which the concerned court will be moved against the verdict.
