TORONTO, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Canadian's main stock market bounced back Wednesday one day after falling to two-week low as energy stocks performed well.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's benchmark Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index rose 126.05 points,or 0.79 percent, to close the day at 16,048.66 points.

The Canadian dollar gained 0.82 cents at 0.77.64 U.S. dollar.

The energy group rose 4.06 points, or 2.05 percent, while the financials sector climbed 1.31 points, or 0.44 percent.

The biggest gainer was Suncor with 11.69 net index points.

MEG Energy Corp soared 7.3 percent and Ivanhoe Mines Ltd jumped 5.8 percent while Birchcliff Energy Ltd. rose by 5.1 percent.

Alacer Gold Corp dipped 3.6 percent while Colliers International Group Inc fell 2.3 percent.

A total of 185 issues advanced and 58 declined. There were 12 new highs and two new lows, with total volume of 180.8 million shares.
