LONDON, July 11 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 1.30 percent, or 100.08 points, to close at 7,591.96 points.

Barratt developments, a residential property development company, soared 3.52 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Kingfisher and Next increased by 1.43 percent and 1.17 percent, respectively.
