ULAN BATOR, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- A weeklong series of cultural and tourism events promoting northeast China's Jilin Province kicked off here on Saturday.

The "Feel China" event aims to strengthen cultural ties between Mongolia and China, organizers said.

"China and Mongolia are good friends and friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers. I believe that this event will help strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between our two peoples and two countries," said Yang Qingdong, charge d'affaires ad interim of the Chinese embassy in Mongolia.

Activities during the week include exhibitions relating to Jilin's intangible cultural heritage and others promoting tourism to the province. A joint concert by artists from China and Mongolia will be held.
