BEIJING, May 11 (Xinhua) -- CITIC Securities, a major Chinese brokerage firm, reported a decline in net profit in April.

Net profit of the parent company stood at 526 million yuan (about 77.82 million U.S. dollars) in April, down from 1.38 billion yuan in March, according to a statement the company filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Operating revenue dropped to 1.33 billion yuan last month from 2.21 billion yuan in March, the statement showed.

By the end of April, the company's net assets amounted to about 129.56 billion yuan.
