BEIJING, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- "A Road to Spring," a social-realist drama film, is set for theatrical release on the Chinese mainland on March 20, 2020, according to the China Film Distribution and Exhibition Association.

The film tells the story of a factory worker in northeast China who becomes an amateur detective to find the real culprit after he is accused of stealing.

Directed by Li Ji, an emerging director, "A Road to Spring" stars young actor Li Mincheng and actress Ren Suxi.

Ren plays the girlfriend of an unnamed researcher who contributes to China's nuclear science research in the high-grossing domestic film "My People, My Country."

"A Road to Spring" had its world premiere at the 24th Busan International Film Festival held earlier this month.
