JAKARTA, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian wall climbing federation will send three athletes to the International Climbing Elite tournament in China later this month.

The three wall climbers will compete against world class opponents in Anshun, China from September 21-22, Sapto Hardiono, secretary of the federation said here on Tuesday.

The participation will be a warm up for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Three Indonesian athletes, Aries Susanti Rahayu, Puji Lestari and Aspar Jailolo, will take part in the event. They will rely much on the speed event as they are strong in that area.

Susanti secured gold at the recently concluded Asian Games in Indonesia.

"I insist on securing a gold medal in the speed event (for men)," said Aspar.
